Living Life While Learning to Save One

On June 7th, members of our venturing crew planned and attended CPR and First Aid training through the American Heart Association. Not only is this a great skill to carry for the benefit of the community, but it allows the venturing crew to participate in activities where knowing basic first aid and lifesaving techniques are crucial. It's also a requirement to earn the Discovery Award to serve as officers with the crew.

We also had adults join us who are or will be new leaders with Venturing Crew 190. One of them has recently taken Wilderness First Aid in preparation for our 2026 Sea Base trip. That will prepare our leaders to administer first aid in the "back country" where we may be more than 30 minutes from rescue.
