The Kiwanis Club of Upper Allen Launches Venturing Crew 190

Sometimes it's said that there's nothing to do despite having more information and entertainment than we can ever consume at our fingertips. Busyness seems to be the standard state of our lives, and yet it feels like none of it seems to satisfy. Yet, even though we are constantly connected through the Internet and social media, it can seem like we are becoming less connected with each other, and with our world. That doesn't mean we have to be satisfied with the status quo. We have the opportunity to make change.

The Kiwanis Club has been active in the Mechanicsburg, PA area for nearly a century, chartering Scouting America units like Cub Pack 190 in Mechanicsburg, PA and Boy Scout Troop 190 in Grantham, PA. Since COVID, teens have been looking for ways to connect in-person and to continue in their scouting career. With that, Venturing Crew 190 was born.

What is venturing? Simply put, it's a completely youth-led local organization that plans and goes on adventures that our crew dreams up. Along the way, we develop friendships and leadership.

One of the core values of our venturing crew is giving back to the community through various service activities. From organizing fundraisers for local causes to participating in volunteer work, this group is committed to making a positive impact in the Central Pennsylvania area and beyond.
